' RECORDING SEMESTER GRAD S !ln.,, 0 7, .4 N A M SSAGE FROM TH SUPERINTENDENT Long after you have completed your high school work, you will turn to the Eagle to refresh your memories of teachers, school mates and activities during the school year of 1950-1951 You have had an opportunity to study, recite and associate with a group of young people interested in preparing themselves to live in a democratic society. Memories of friendships, the respect for the rights of others, and responses to the spiritual values of truth, justice and sincerity should be principles by which you work and live. My best wishes go to you, your fathers, mothers and teachers for lives enriched with success and many blessings. Jerry Fash, Onalee Shaw and Donna Rankin. CLASS HISTORY Twelve years ago. September 1. 1939. a group of young and eager boys and girls ventured out from the quiet of home to make their way in the hard cruel worldf, It was the opening day of school and the very first time for these little pilgrims. They told their parents a reluctant good-by and marched one by one into the old stucco-covered school building. Among this group were: little Jerry Leroy Fash, Connie Holmes. Cay Money. Patsy Jones. Ronnie Staggs. Onalee Shaw and Donna Rankin. School was a thrilling experience. and each dayis progress was duly reported at home to admiring parents. At the end of the first year Gay moved to Enid. To be sure othcrs joined our classes from year to year but this is the story of those hardy souls who have mastered twelve years of lessons and are graduating from Hennessey lligh School this spring. ln the fourth grade we had some happy surprises-namely a new school building, and four additions to our number-Rose Hickey. Colleen Madsen. Arnel Thomas and Cay Money. We took the fifth grade in stride and felt we were really quite adult. Then it was September again and we were sixth graders. How wonderfull but how different! Five new members joined our class-Verda Shuford Prouty. Violet Ricks, Larry LaPorte, ,lack llenry and Kenneth Barber. But we found other differences to mark this sixth year-three teachers. instead of the customary one. More lessons to study but more fun too. Then Larry and Cay left us but Barbara Jeane Gregory joined us. The seventh grade was uneventful but a busy, happy year and then came the eighth and our last year in grade school. Patsy came hack from Wyoming to graduate with us and we were not a bit superstitious to be thirteen in number. Twelve others of our present number joined us on enrollment day so our Freshman class numbered twenty- five. Those who joined us as freshmen are: Larry LaPorte, Wiley Cain, Floyd Hawk, Joe Maly. Max Melendy. Mildred Shimanek. ,lim Tharp, Peggy Winters. Helen Neill, Mildred Pacula. Agnes Pacula and Bernie Shimanek. Our class received a further boost in number when Angeline Vrska joined us in the tenth grade. To add to the eventful junior year. Gay Money. Carlleen Stotts and Tom Vaverka helped us solve our problems and worked hard on our activities for the year. Carole Rice helped us finish our goal for twelve years of success. We think our class is well rounded at the present time with thirteen boys and eighteen girls.
