Students have classes as well as ward experience working with selected patients. 9

JKaterna ancf CecuSorn DCursiny By caring for the mother during labor and delivery, and for both mother and baby after delivery, students find continuity in obstetrical nursing. They study abnormal conditions as well as the normals. They also learn to appreciate the joy of a mother who sees her baby for the first time. We might say students tend to identify most with these patients. MISS HARDING, R. N. Broadlawns Polk County General Hospital, University of Colorado, B.S. in Nursing University of Minnesota, M.Ed. J ec ialrics Caring for children is challenging, at time frustrating but oh so rewarding. Through use of care plans, textbooks, and lectures, the students obtain a better understanding of not only the care of sick children but also general principles of dealing with the normal child. MRS.
