Along with changing to semester courses, the social science department also changed the num- ber of graduation credits needed in this field. The new requirements are 2 semesters of modern problems, 2 semesters of U. S. history, and 2 semesters of freshman or sophomore social science with at least one of these semesters being a multi-nation course. Some of the new semester courses carried very inviting titles such as YOYO fYou're On Your Ownj, Grow or Die, and Who Am I? Senior students had an opportunity to earn their social science credits and be a service to their community at the same time through the CSP pro- gram. All of the social science classes were con- veniently located around the library. 1' Jerry Gutierrez and Kevin Harris rescue the United States and put it back in its proper brackets.
