Music RIGHT: Dr. Ashley Coffman. A member of a number of national and local music orgfanizations, Dr. Cof- man is head of the music department at Hendrix College. He was awarded his l'h.IJ. in music psycholo- gy at Northwestern University in 1951. He has been at Hendrix since 1943 and serves as director of the band, brass choir, and stage band. BELOW: Dr. Hadley Yates. Dr. Yates, music theory and piano instructor, received his Ph.D. in music theory from Indiana University. He studied under Mme. Boulanger at the Fountainebleau School of Fine Arts in 1960 before joining the Hendrix faculty in the fall of 1961. Dr. Yates instructs students in both ele- mentary and advanced piano. RIGHT: Mr. Harold Thompson. Mr. Thompson, asso- ciate professor of music, received his Master's degree in music from Indiana University in 1951. He joined the Hendrix faculty in 1954. While teaching, Mr. Thompson also instructs students in both private voice lessons and voice classes.

English LEFT: Mr. Charles Chappell. Completing studies at Emory University, Mr. Chappell came to Hendrix in 1969 as a teacher with his M.A. in English and is presently working on his doctorate. Mr. Chappell is faculty advisor for the Trouhadour and Profile. BELOW: Dr. Walter Moffatt. Upon his graduation from Hendrix, Dr. Moffatt went to Harvard for his Master's Degree and to Princeton, where he received his doctorate in English. He returned to Hendrix in 1948, and as a member of the faculty, now serves as chairman of the humanities area and head of the English Department. ..-...sl...,,l,,,, 5

fi ' LEFT: Mr. Robert McGill. Mr. McGill received his Master's degree in sacred music from Union Theolog- ical Seminary in New York City. He came to Hendrix in 1962 as director of the choir and instructor in church music and organ. He now serves as director of all choral music, including chorus, choir, and mad- rigals, and instructs students in organ. BELOW: Mrs. Jacqueline Mulacek. Mrs. Mulacek is a part-time teacher at Hendrix. She serves as assist- ant professor in the music department where she teaches private music lessons in piano. LEFT: Dr. George Mulacek. In 1965 Dr. Mulacek re- ceived his doctorate in musical arts in performance at the University of Colorado. Teaching advanced music theory courses, Dr. Mulacek has been a member of the Hendrix faculty since 1950.
