Getting Off the Ground Hendersonville High School Bearcats is a well- known name in Henderson County, Western North Caro- lina and the State. The rea- son is simple. HHS is UP, UP 8t AWAY in everything we do. We pride ourselves on our Touch of Class and, with enthusiasm, we have achieved recognition. We ex- cel in academics, clubs, sports and the arts, for ex- ample-the Marching Band re- ceived it's twenty- ourth su- perior rating this year. As Mr. Wilson welcomed us back, we realized summer was over! Then off to classes, we were issued books, and encouraged to learn as much as possible in order to develop our own personality. The faculty worked hard to push drifters back in the right direction. We knew the year would surprise us as we continued to rise in our Balloon of Suc- cess. This year we continued our journey to the top, some- times encountering rough winds now and then but al- ways relying on each other to put ourselves back on course. Excitement and an- ticipation filled the hearts of the students at HHS for the new year. Seniors enjoyed Freshmen Initiation, which was fun while it lasted! The first day of school was unique - the Seniors pa- raded to school with bal- loons, posters, and horns, ready for a big year.
