Our school system is operated by the Hender- sonville City Board of Education whose members are appointed by the City Commissioners who are elected by the people. Few people realize the amount of effort that the Board devotes to the school system. It is the duty of the Board to engage per- sonnel, to maintain buildings and facilities, and most importantly, to obtain necessary funds. The Board works through the superintendent, who has direct contact with school personnel.
