Remember ? Remember the memories you have made ? May this publication and the records of this year's activi- ties be a source of pleasant thought in the years to come! May the memories of your work and play during 1965-66 be pleas- ing to you as you recall your contributions to your own future and the total program at H.H.S.! R. Hugh Lockaby Memories of laughter on the campus, of horseplay on the sidewalk, of deep concentration in the classroom, of pas sing fancies amid the din of clattering machines, victories on the field, meetings in the hall, and socials in the evening remain in active file awaiting recall. May this edition of the Laureate convey these pleasant memories over the years to sustain the spirit of '66. Hugh D. Randall Every worthwhile achievement requires effort. No out- standing accomplishment just happens. The effort and planning you have done during this year is very creditably reflected in your finished product -- THE LAUREATE. Eachyear this work has come to more and more represent the various segments that make up life at Hendersonville High School. The Laureate, more than many school yearbooks, is a meaningful and serious reflection of the goals, activities, and accomplishments embodied in your school life. Congratulations for a job very well done. C. M. King WO

Our school system is operated by the Hen- dersonville City Boardof Education whose mem- bers are appointed by the City Commissioners who are elected by the people. Few people realize the amount of effort that the Board de- votes to the school system. It is the duty of the Board to engage personnel, to maintain buildings and facilities, and most importantly, to obtain necessary funds. The Board works through the superintendent, who has direct contact with school personnel.
