Presented by the Senior Class of Hendersonville High School HENDERSONVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA J oreworcl f? iYc S T , 7 H c- i; i •; So well remembered — what really constitutes a school? The building, yes, with its greying Greek pillars and earth- red brick; the classes, with their various courses of study? Pencils and paper, dusty chalk trays, and statues of Cicero and George Washington? Yes — all of these constitute a school, but they would be meaningless without the con¬ stant flow of students entering that building, attending those classes, and using the different materials available. School — at least this school for we know it best — is not only for students. IT IS STUDENTS! The staff of the 1951 LAUREATE, is happy to present this book to you as a potential bridge between that ephemereal past and hazy present in hopes that in years to come you will SO WELL REMEMBER. 4514 0 Hendersonville High School • Hendersonville, N. C. jr DEDICATION Because she has endeared herself to the hearts of each of us with her ever-present friendly smile, because she has been a wonderful teacher, and because she has always patiently listened to our problems and given us excellent advice, we, the senior class of 1951, do proud¬ ly and lovingly dedicate this fourth edition of the LAUREATE to one who will be SO WELL REMEMBERED — Mrs. Mary Louise Fain. While our thoughts are of the days gone by. And the memories that they bring. Do you think what it means to be leaving school. And parting from friends we ' ve made? We find at the end of our senior year. That we must go away. Well, this is the end of our senior year. Near the end of a journey too. But it leaves a thought that is very dear. And a wish that is kind and true. Tor memory has painted our senior year. With colors that never fade. And we find at the end of our senior year, V e must leave the friends we ' ve made.
