He holds a BA. degree from Arkansas A and M College and the NLS. degree from Oklahoma State University at Stillwater. Dr. Hussell has done advanred graduate studv at Teachers College ol Columbia lfniversity. and at the lfniversity ol' California. The hon- orary Ll.. D. degree was eonlerred on him by Hendrix College in l0o5. President Russell has served aetively in professional organiza- tions, having served as president ol the Arkansas Education Associ- ation, The Arkansas Athletic- Association, the Arkansas School Administrators .'Xssociation. the State Superintendents Association. and others.
