RAY MARTIN Arkadelphia Rison Members of the Board of Trustees are appointed by the governor for a seven-year term. This board works for the interest of the school by setting policies, electing staff mem- bers with the recommendation of the president, and by de- ciding on any new construction. Mr. M. H. Russell, chairman of the board, is Superinten- dent of Crosett Public Schools. Mr. H. F. Dial, long-time prominent educator, is recently retired as Superintendent of Schools at Pine Bluff. Mr. Hugh Lookadoo is an Arkadelphia attorney and member of the Arkansas legislature. Mr. Ray Martin is in the wholesale butane business in Rison. DR. W. E. ,ik . H MCBRIE X .PI ' . HENDERSON PRESIDENT DR. D. D. MCBRIEN President of Henderson State Teachers College D. D. McBrien has attained prominence in the field of education. Progress has been the key- note of his administration. Construction and completion of new campus buildings and a broadened and strengthened curriculum have taken place during his tenure in office. Dr. McBrien received his B.A. from the Univer- sity of Nebraska, his M.A. from Columbia University, and earned his Ph. D. from George Washington University. Dr. McBrien taught in the public schools of Nebraska, served as professor of history at Arkansas State Teachers College, and taught several summers at the University of Arkansas before coming to Henderson in 1945. ig
