The fundamental purpose of any annual is to present a summary of the year's activities and to help preserve for the student memories of the school year. Such is the purpose of the 1940 STAR. However, we must realize that nothing is perfect. Perhaps you may be critical of the 1940 STAR, but we ask you to remember that our work has been done in consideration of your best interests and with lcindest thoughts. If we have not fallen short of our aim-to give the student body a creditable yearbook-then we cannot consider our efforts in vain. THE STAFF
