I I HONOIZQO IE The John James Audubon chapter of the National Honor Society was founded at Barret High School in 1947. The object of the society is to create an enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leader- ship, and to encourage the development of character in pupils of Henderson High School. Candidates eligible to election in this chapter shall stand in the first third of their respective classes in scholarship and shall have an academic average of not less than 2.4. STUDENT COUN OIL lf l.,, One of the most important organiza- tions in Henderson High School, the Stu- dent Council provides an opportunity for students to participate in their own government. It serves as a medium for the exchange of ideas and the discussion of school rulings between the students and the faculty. Each homeroom is represented on the council by an elected representa- tive who must maintain an academic average of C or above. In addition to their governmental responsibilities, the Student Council sponsors yearly Sadie Hawkins Day, Teacher Appreciation Week, and the Heart Fund Drive.
