My! What famous friends we do have, and l can tell you a few more. Calvin Allen is futhering American re- lations with Mongols in Outer Mongolia. The first female mountain climbing team ever to conquer Mount Ant Hill was composed of Marie Cox, Mary Ann Hancock, Duane Moore and Linda Wells. Gerry Beard, a prosperous owner of Beard's Beards, manufactures false face coverings for department store Santa Clauses. And did you know that Becky Gilmore holds the l978 title of Mrs. America? No, but I heard that Ernest Ha mmonds holds the world record for stuffing turkeys in a given period of time. And former mattress stuffer, Ray Stone, is now president of the First Wild Cat Bank. His biggest depositor is Nancy Tanner. Did you know that, to the surprise of everyone, she made her money with a fleet of shrimp boats. She always was fond of sails. Oh, here we are at the theater. Look at the marquee! Starring Carol Braun, Martha Lantrip, Nancy Woodring and John Boston. And the four P's , Earline Pennington, Lucinda Pennington, Sandra Pirtle, and Nancy Pugh, are going to sing their new hit song, which they recorded for Donna Jernigau's Studio, Standing in the crowd, waiting for the special guests, we notice that the doorman is Charles Ross. The first car arrives, and our anxious waiting is over. Why, that's Sandra Sheets and Larry Cotton, co-owners of Insomnia , lnc. , who pioneered the development of Scotch Plaide bed coverings, And getting out of that rickshaw are Jean Bebout and Anna Clayton, owners of the famous Chinese restaurant, Ping Pong. Who is that driving up in that Sacroliliac? I believe it is Sue Hancock, the famous dress designer. She has brought along Lillian Cummings, Jo Nell Gibbs, and Kay Hansen to model costumes from the production, at the party to be held after the show. Who is that climbing down from the back of that elephant? Why that's Betty Hayes, Ronny Smith and Jimmy Willett, with their elephant, Toppy. You knew, didn't you, that they bought the chain of Kroger stores with top value stamps? We decide to go on in and find our seats before the production starts. Ushers Billy Leslie and Dicky Farley assist us to our places, which, we discover are directly behind those of Anita Shelton, Janice Ternes, and Doris Turner. After renewing old acquaintances, we find that they own a skunk farm from which they receive a profit of 500 cents a day. lsn't ita coincidence that their farm adjoins Russell Lemon's citrus fruit plantation? The lights now dim, and the co-managers, Doris Miles and Charles Samples, thank us for our patronage and on with the show. We thoroughly enjoyed the drama, and we, as friends of the producer, are invited to attend the Victory Dinner being held at the Soaper Hotel owned by Bobby Carter and David Cates. We read the sign in the hotel lobby that says, Appearing nightly in the Chartreuse Room, Judy Vanover, The Last of the Cool Blue Mammas, and Gene Burgener's Band. We go on in, and, on the way back to our table, we recognize Bill Haynes behind the bar concocting his famous drink, The Pink Grasshoper. We notice two couples on the dance floor, they are Judy Ward and Jerry Barron, and Judy Sutton and Tommy Hayes. They are the United States entries for the potato sack race at the Olympics being held at Sturgis, Ken- tucky, These representatives have also been invited to the celebration. On seating ourselves at the table, we become engaged in conversation with Betty Mortis Thompson and Brenda Murphy, who are now co-owners of the Bear Brand Hosiery Company. We continue chatting around the table until Bunny Ball races in. He is manager of the Washington Senators, World Series Champions for the last five years. The reason for his excitement is the latest edition of the Critics Review, edited by Butch Swartz. His word is looked on as the sole authority on dramas, and he has spoken most favorably. All in all, this has been a most enjoyable evening. We, Dianne Orsburn and Sandra Cooksey, are happy to have had this opportunity to bring you our prophecy of events that will take place twenty years from now, May 27, 1978!
