LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT O We, the Class of 1945, being in full possession of our minds, and realiz- ing that we must dispose of the following, do make and publish this, our Last Will and Testament. ITEM: We give and bequeath to the dear faculty many nights of rest- ful sleep. No longer need they lie awake worrying if this one is doing her homework or that one is going to pass a geography quiz. It has been a hard strain on them for Seniors are said to be at all times and under all conditions difficult to manage. They have done their duty well and shall have their hard-earned reward. ITEM: To our beloved principal Doc Crowder, we leave our most sincere affections and our heartiest gratitude for all the help we have received from him in his time as principal. ITEM: We give and bequeath to the eleventh grade all such boys as were not able to keep pace with such brilliant girls as compose the majority of our class. COf course, Uncle Sam had nothing to do with it.J ITEM: The following are not trivial bequests, as they may seem, but are valuable assets to those who may receive them. May they be a con- tinual reminder of our generosity of heart. 1. To our homeroom teacher, Miss McKaughan, our admiration and ever-enduring friendship. 2. To Miss Morton a whole room full of sunshine. 3. To Miss Tyree a quiet and more dignified Geography class. 4. To Mr. Hearne many more years of success with the band. 5. To the future President of the Student Body Billy Mitchell's execu- tive ability. 6. To anyone who wants it Martha Evans' wit. Apply early and avoid the rush. h 7. To Mary Lou Kimball Patsy McCallum's artistic ability. 8. To Sonny Hartley Billy Davis' success as a football manager. 9. To Ann Sprinkle Lassie Dix:0n's basketball ability. A 10. To the future managing editor of the Bulldog Shirley Bass' troubles. I 11. To Harold Crowder Bobby Smith's football ability. 12. To Henderson High School we leave!! The oomph girl of '55, Mabel Butts: great scientist. As successful as ever. Bobby Smith: very much married. Three kids: Jeanne, Bob, Jr., Russ. Penny Matalas: famous palmist known as Madame Penny. Jewel Allen: private secretary, continually sitting on the boss' lap. Billy Mitchell: Governor of ye olde Pine State. Bachelor still using mile- long words. feditor's note: he won't be old enough in 10 years.J Martha Evans: radio comedienne, partner to Judy Canova. Dora Johnson: still giggling, wishing she were the first lady of the state. Donald Gupton: at a resort in California. Betsy Ann Robards: teaching school in Henderson High. Louise Trogden: struggling through Peace College. As crazy as ever. Bob Hunt: rich aviator. Owner of several B-29's and helicopters. Patsy McCallum: famous artist and novelist. Nell Rose O'Brien: sweet and friendly as ever. Radio announcer at WHNC. Billy Davis: owner of a large grocery store and a large bay window. Doris Grissom: married to a fella six feet, four. Such a darling pair. Helen Clark: newspaper reporter. Unmarried but still hopeful. Andrew Ramsey: famous radio comedian. Unhooked as yet. Rosa Mac Coghill: hasn't grown an inch. Secretary who is desperately in love with her boss. Ann Rose: managing Leggett's. Still driving Gertie. Martha Bailey: married with five giggling brats. Lassie Dixon: married with a basketball team all her own. Edna Freeman: a very successful working girl in New York City. Macon House: Some gal finally roped him. The Houses have a bungalow and several little Houses. Florine Ingram: editor of Mademoiselle, Mary Ware Bruin: proud mother of twin boys and .a little girl, name o' Catlett. John Rainey: successful business man. Ten little feet around the house. Tempe Bradley: Metropolitan opera singer. Della Dixon: more popular than ever. Supervisor at Carolina Telephone Company.
