A. will give him enough money to buy a copy of t Jne llundred and t me llest Songs, for every one in school. . 'l'o Miss 'llurner. our hearty thanks for helping us to put over our animal and also our sincere hopes that the incoming Senior Class will not be as dumb as we were. . To Mr. Greene. our room teacher, the hope that he will have a new chemistry book to teach next year so that the pupils will not have to con- sult the reference books for Boyle's and Charles' Laws. . To Miss Dosier, some screws for the loose desks that the giant boys won't make so much noise: and also the hope that she may get a set of indestructible maps. . To Mrs. Paris, our wishes that she will not have that nerve racking job of holding Study Hall the first fifteen minutes of the day. . To Miss lieavers. all the money we have left C PFJ after going to the little store. with which to buy iron compasses and steel rulers. . To Miss Searcy, the nightingale of H. II. S.. our sincere hopes that she may persuade all the musical pupils to exert their talent enough to or- ganize an orchestra. . To Kliss Kirby. the Latin teacher. who was denied the pleasure of teach- ing us, our heartiest wishes that she may have a brilliant Virgil class next year. . To Coach Evans, all the surplus money, on hand from our annual. with which to buy a new first aid kit to replace the one which has served so faithfully during the past two years. . LEON JCJYNER-Much success awaited this very jovial person, for to him came the opportunity of displaying' his artistic talent, hy devoting him- self to the field of architectural designing. The erection of the magnificent new XVhite House in Vkfashington has heen personally supervised hy Mr. uloyner, who, after its completion, accepted the contract to draw the plans of the famous Stone Mountain Hotel at ,-Xtlanta, Georgia, SHIRLEY Lf DXVRY-Knowing hasket hall as she does, Miss Lowry found it quite simple to succeed in the game, and returned to Henderson High as directress of Physical Education, ROY EVANS-'llliis extremely peppy young man exceeded his own pep one day and swam the English channel, with the once famous Gertrude Ederle as trainer. Lipon completing the long swim, he was overwhelmed hy an astonishing offer of fifty thousand dollars from the Glo-Glue Hair Dressing Company to endorse their hair preparation, hy attrihuting the neat appearance of his hair to Glo-Clue, not one whisp of his hair lmeing dis- arranged during his lengthy stay in the water. IZESSIE EV.-XNS+XVith Elizabeth Ellington as partner, she won great success in the Follies with a bill known as The Flapper's Prayer. Flizaheth played the role of the Flapper, and llessie enacted that of the prayer. bl. li, Cl..-XRK-Dulmherl hy his schoolmates, Shakespeare this very literary young man earned a right to that name and became the world's lead- ing' playwright and novelist of the new literature. lrlis chief topic for his work was discourses on Love-his inspiration coming from memories ol his Senior year at lligh School with a Freshman hrunette. The Yoice seemed to die away slowly. Finally, it hecame almost inaudihle. ln vain did l whirl the dials, hut the strange speaker was no more. 'llhe fire was quite low now and the room was fast losing its cheery warmth. 1 Putside. the snow fell faster and thicker than ever. and the wind roared dismally around the corners of the house. .Xnd out there, somewhere, was that strange Voice-that Voice which had hrought to me precious recollections of my classmates. The football squad, the privilege of eating Fleishmans Yeast, in order to increase their avoir-du-pois. 2. The Boys' liasket Ball Team, our wishes that they will make such re- markable grades that they will be excused from the last period of school on Mondays and Thursdays in order to practice. 3.
