CLASS HISTORY NE bright Septeinher inoriiiiig in l'fl24, sixty-seven boys and girls started on this journey. We had lmeen tnlwl that it was a laluwimis way. lint we had unlimited courage and nnlmnunflefl confidence in our ahility to overcome all difficulties. Many of our nnnilmer fell victims to the initiations of the Soplioinfwes but this did not weaken our courage in the least. XYith Klr. Spencer and Miss May llunter as our drivers, we were soon full-fledged High School students. We inet several giants during the first few weeks of scliool. These were l.atin, Klatheniaties and Science. lt surely tlirl retlnire hard wnrlc to make these giants surrender. ,Xll of our time was not given to elass-ronni work, thnugh. liecause the tirst edition of onr llieh Sclinnl Annual, The f'rfi-flue, was published that year. This event caused ns to feel that we had lmeen a great inspiration as well as an asset to the l ligh Sclitinl, Stunt we realized that we had conipleteil our first niile and were ready to encounter new olmstacles. Uur ntnnher had heen decreased to forty-eiglit. and Hr. Garrison liecanie our ilriver. We niet giant lsiisttvlw, hut he surrendered quite readily to us. We surely hall our share oi fun in hazing the lfreshnien as we had had to suffer so severely at the hancls nf our liniitweil friends. the Sfrplioiiimes. when we were wearers of the green cloalcf' At the end of our Sopliomore year, we learned that a few of our eoinpanions had fallen into the net woven hy giant lfx:nninatio1is. lt grieved ns to have to part with these dear ones. but we hafle thein ailien and wished theni much success and happiness, Then we eliniheil into the stage Junior and liravely started out with Mr. Sledd and Bliss liessie Sue Stacy as our new drivers. For our guides, we elected Garland Nelson, presiflentg Nannie Crowder, vice- president: and George Rose, secretary and treasurer. Our way was marked hy niany new and interesting' events. First, we gave a Gypsy Tea. in linnm' of the Seniors, at the XYaslinnt. This entertainment was noted for its originality, and everyone present declared it to he a sparkling success. Then the Parent-'lieachers Association gave a reception fur the Seniors and invited us. 'Wie had not passed the half-inile niarlq when every Qlunior was allowed to wear the ll, ll, S. seal niarlteil with the year l'l27, We also discovered that our party contained three wonderful athletes. Didnt we feel proud when we read in the paper that the following young girls, Nannie Crowder, Shirley Lowry, and Gladys Strange. had heen the stellar players in all the girls' basket ball games? All too soon, twenty-five of the travelers entered the Senior stage and were swept down the highway. XVe selected as our driver, Miss Dorothy Turner. Twentyfthre:
