Baseball The i972 Warrior Baseball team brought back to Henderson the Ches-Mont Southern Conference Champi- onship after an absence of five years, the last crown having been won in 1967. Highlights of the season includ- ed smashing victories over Coatesville, Phoenixville, Great Valley, and a clutch win over Downingtown to cinch the Southern Crown. Steve Clark and Ray Piersol were the real mound aces with Dave Rodriguez being the workhouse behind the plate. Dave Webb and Eric Waltz also proved to be the key men inthe infield and outfield, respectively. The climax of the season was the Northern and Southern Conference Championship play-off game at the Hill School against Pottstown for the Ches-Mont League title. The Warriors rallied late in the game in an attempt to ovecome a four run deficit, but fell short by one losing to Pottstown 7-6. The title game closed out a truly exciting season. 1 ' 4. M 6.
