V , . , . , V L 'Tx 1 R. Fehr, E. Haines, I. Leary The Indoor Track team was entered in competition with 45 other area teams, both in the public and paro- chial school league. Schools represented are from Chester, Bucks, Montgomery, Delaware, and Philadel- phia counties. Four records were set by our men - Dave Womer was 11'6,' in pole vault, John Leary was 10:09.1 in the 2-mile, Rick Feh ran the mile in 4:36.8, and Emerson Haines threw the shot put 47'11 . 1 .t 39 For the third consecutive season the Henderson Ski Team finished undefeated, with Co-Captains Dennis Balian and Todd Sepella vying for first place. Sue Pessel and Gail Hewett were top finishers in the girls competition. Slalom races were held at Chadd's Peak with team spirit high - this was the first season that the top twenty rac- ers earned an official Warrior Ski Team sweater as well as a place in the competi- tion. Baseball The i972 Warrior Baseball team brought back to Henderson the Ches-Mont Southern Conference Champi- onship after an absence of five years, the last crown having been won in 1967. Highlights of the season includ- ed smashing victories over Coatesville, Phoenixville, Great Valley, and a clutch win over Downingtown to cinch the Southern Crown. Steve Clark and Ray Piersol were the real mound aces with Dave Rodriguez being the workhouse behind the plate. Dave Webb and Eric Waltz also proved to be the key men inthe infield and outfield, respectively. The climax of the season was the Northern and Southern Conference Championship play-off game at the Hill School against Pottstown for the Ches-Mont League title. The Warriors rallied late in the game in an attempt to ovecome a four run deficit, but fell short by one losing to Pottstown 7-6. The title game closed out a truly exciting season. 1 ' 4. M 6.
