Gutdoor Club The highlights of the Outdoor Club are the various trips in which the students participate and the different habi- tats of nature which they witness. Among these outings this year was a canoe trip. Debate Club Resolved: that all governmental financial support of public elementary and secondary education in the United States should be provided exclusively by the Federal Government. This was the National High School topic argued by Heuderson's Debate Team in competition this year. The team met with groups from other schools in the County Debate League every month on the second Thursday, and District Tournaments were held at Radnor. 132

QM The New You Club is an inte rated club that meets weekl to study fashion, hairstyles, grooming, and prepiring for job interviews. The cllubis plans include sponsoring fund-raising projects and providing scholarships to graduating se- niors The sponsors ofthe 35 member club are Mrs. Thomas, Mrs. Strausbaugh, and television's Channel 6 broadcaster Diane Robinson as advisor. Riding Club This year the Riding Club was very busy getting many horse shows on the move. Members did a considerable amount of work with horses in groom- ing, riding, and teaching newcomers about horseman- ship. This year's officers were Barb Hamilton and Sue Dix- on. Sponsored by Mrs. Head, the club enables students in- terested in horses to further their interests by staging horse shows and participating in other activities involving horses.

WCYE In addition to the annual visita- tions and various speakers on education, this year was one of change for the FTA Club. Under the Leadership of Bob Cotwals, State Vice-President, and club officers: Sue Schooler, Presi- dentg Randy Plank, Vice Presi- dent, Barb Hetherington, Rec- ording Secretaryg Mary Creen- wood, Corresponding Secretaryg and faculty advisor, Miss Riehl, the club decided to change its name to West Chester Youth Education Association. Now, not just limited for students interest- ed in teaching, the club exists for those interested in any area of education. DE CA The Distributive Education Clubs of America is a national organization geared to students interested in marketing and distribution. This year many trips were taken to various department stores to familarize the students with their operations. This yearys officers were Cary Killgore, Presidentg Theresa Iamurri, Vice-Presidentg Jacqueline McKnight, Secretary, Gerald Faust, Treasurerg William Bunce, Reporterg and john Zelinsky, Parlimentarian.
