Faces At HH Stand Out In The Crowd The faces we meet every day in our classes in the halls and on the bus come back to haunt us as we indulge in out of school activities. Often when we are at Northlake or a concert at the Omni or a game at the Stadium we see someone a few rows away and we automatically think school. Jeff Terry admits When I m at a con- cert I use my binoculars to scan the crowd for people l know from school. Its amazing how many people you hall. The demanding faces of our teachers often are etched in our minds so well that we sometimes think we see them when we actually don t. But the faces are well known like our homecoming queens Karen Patterson and John Chahouri or just a mere sub- freshman in our studyhall. They all re- present our school Henderson High School to us. And for we who see them 180 days of the year they stand out in a crowd. V This page: Top left: Barney Wanner Lance Webb Traci Vardis. Bottom left: Canan Yucel Heidi DeKreek. Top rightg Luann Tyre. Students Punk Out For Spirit Week The credit for success of this year's spirit week is aimed not at the plan- ners, but at the participants. The week consisted of five wild and weird days, including tropical day, button day, hat day, punk day, and fifties day. Al- though all days got an excellent re- sponse, there is no argument as to which day was the most successful. Punk day ranked above all. Many stu- dents donned mini-skirts, cat-eye glasses and black lipstick to celebrate the day. No one expected Henderson to produce so many closet radicals! Blue hair, black pantyhose, and chains were the prevailing style of the day. It is a wonder there was no slam dance in the hall. The gyrations would not have been out of place on that day. All the students wore their costumes with pride. For this one week out of the year nobody had to worry about look- ing stupid. After all, there's bound to be someone, somewhere, who looked sillier than you. Opposite page: upper left: Jim Sligh, Barry Wal- ter. Lower left: Glenn Manry.
