Chicks End 2nd Season ' , f ij Y With 9-6 Record jaw i , t U 6 . ,.. :xg I The Henderson County Junior College Chicks, guided by Coach Connie Russell, are pioneers in junior college women's basketball. The HCJC's women's team is in its second year of compe- tition. This year the Chicks became members of the National Junior College Athletic Association, and will be competing in the newly-formed Texas Eastern Conference for Women in 1975-'76 season. - , Opponents for 74-'75 included other members of the TEC for Women, Tyler, Angelina, and Panola colleges, plus established teams such as Temple and Weatherford. The Chicks also defeated senior colleges as their skills improved by downing East Texas State University and Ambassador Col- lege. They were the only junior college team to be invited to the Texas Women's University Invitational at Denton. They participated in the Region XIV NJ CAA tournament held at Temple . In '75-'76 a TEC champ will be established 1 up p and the Chicks have high hopes of being a top contender.
