Foreword During 1970 a New Word came into our vocabulary: Ecology. Suddenly everyone was taking an interest in the world around him. The problem of pollution became not only a National but a local issue. Cleaning up the environment became the order of the day, and Henderson Central students eagerly joined the campaign. The pictures on this page record some of the highlights of that memorable day last May. However, we realize that preserving the environment requires constant attention by all of us. It is our hope that from last year’s modest beginning a dedicated, concerted effort will be maintained to preserve the beauty of our land beginning right here in Henderson, New York. Mrs. Hess has taught Kindergarten in Henderson Central School for twenty-five years. She has seen many changes and, we imagine, she was proud to have the Kindergarten room changed with the new addition twelve years ago. We think she deserves this dedication for her long hard years of devotion. We appreciate Mrs. Hess’s preparation of her pupils from beginning cries and screams to smiles and laughs.
