A clear, unusually warm October day marked the be- ginning of the Hempstead Homecoming Festivities for 1976. With leaves falling and a breeze that had a hint of Fall just around the comer, the Homecoming Assembly opened the festivities in a bustle and hustle of anxious classmen a- waiting the announcement of the Homecoming Queen for 1976. (Continued from Pg. 16) The gym, crowded with people, fell in silence and sud- denly rose in applause as Wendy Kelleher was crowned the Queen. Following was the parade with floats streaming down the street as if they really were floating. The band, sounded with drums, trumpets and trombones, the delicate flute's shrill and the chiming of the xylophone. The football game, in spite of the double overtime lose to Clinton (23 to 20), highlighted the thrill of Homecoming '76 with the usual excitement of a Mustang football game. Wrapping up Homecoming was the dance on Saturday (Continued on Pg. 19)
