AMOS KINCAID Superintendent of Schools Board of Education TO Dr. Kincaid and the Board of Education falls the task of running the school system economically and beneficially. The astute mem- bers of the board congregate once a month. They file into the spacious board room and be- gin their routine. The clerk. Miss Doty, presents the business for their consideration while the board listens attentively. The benign president, Emil Bejsovec, inadvertently nods his head at each item and waits patiently. The reading fin- ished, he asks if there is any other unfinished business; none. The board then proceeds with the discussion of the many problems involved in the running of a large and well-organized school system. 10
