HE theme of the Imperial Ball, this yeor's Senior Ball, was based on the Russian and French courts of the eighteenth century. The ceil- ing and walls were decorated with fleurs de lis cnd magnificent crests of gold, red, and silver. Music was supplied by the Suburbans from a a beautifully decorated bandstand. All of this wculdn't have been possible if it hadn't been for Jennifer Joyce and the many other con- tributory members. Weeks were spent in the planning and prepa- ration of this memorable occasion. Under the guidance of the Senior Class Advisors, Mrs. Dendy and Mr. Levin, the ambitious committees transformed the boys' gym into an aristocratic court in which Louis XVI could have entertained. The evening of Friday, January 23, began with a welcoming speech by Tony Tsighis. The dance was held from 8 p.m. to midnight, the climax of the evening being traditional corona- tion of the king, Manny Schwartz, and the queen, Fran Negler. This occasion will always be remembered by all who attended. Ronald Gill, loretta VanNess, Judy Cooper, Ralph Ahrens, Liz Regan, Rod Charles, Carol Denike, Hank Drewal enioy the lmperial Ball. The Big Night 2 13 Fran Negler and Manny Schwartz, the queen and the king Dancing tothe music of the Suburbans.
