HIS year marics the eleventh annivers- ary of the Hempstead Parent Teachers Association, and it goes on record as having carried out very successtuity the theme: Sato Guarding Our Human Re- sources. On the third htonday of each month a topic appropriate to the theme was pre- sented hy a welt-known speaicer. Topics such as Juvenile Delinquency, Parent Re- sponsihiiity, Home, and Physical Educa- tion were treated hy such welt-icnown spcaicers as the Honorahie Edward J. Neary, Dr. Rohert Tcviott Livingston, Mr. James Lee Etienwood, Professor Jay B. Nash, Captain Oliver F. Holden. and Mr. James Vxfiison made the tenth year of the association one in which worth- while ideas were emphasized. Aiso stressed were the ohjects of the association: To promote the welfare of children and youth in home. schooi, church, and communityg to raise the stand- ards of home tifeg to secure adequate iaws for the care and protection of children and youthg to hring into ctoser relation the home and the school that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the training of the chitdg to develop hetween educators and the generat puhtic such united efforts as Witt secure for every chiid the highest advantages in physical, mental, sociat, and spiritual education. Each program at the high school was ttavored with setective entertainment, tot- iowed by a social hour and refreshments in the cafeteria. The P. T.
