We're the Class of 56 , We’ve had our fun and lots of kicks. No more years in H.H.S., For some there's more, for others less. Let's resolve to have our fun. And meet the things that are gonna come. We're looking forward to the date, When we're gonna graduate. After that day we'll go our ways. Always remembering the good old days . When we all worked like slaves, Piles of work, worse then our graves. Things were looking mighty black. When those 4's and 5's went, SMACK! Shakespeare after school each night. Sure was tough, we put up a fight. Although we thought we couldn't take it, We all came through, our advice is; you can make it. So all you Freshies in next year. Don't follow our footsteps, just lend an ear. We're the Class of 56 , We've had our fun and lots of kicks. 6 44 As our high school career draws to a close, we, the Seniors of 1956, recollect the past years of our school days in Hemingford. In the fall of 1944 our school days began. Members of the original class who have attended all twelve years are: Tressa Branson, Bert Glass, Floyd Gowin, Shirley Langston, Larry Nagelschneider, and Mary Sampy. Many new classmates were gained and a few were lost as we climbed up the ladder from the first to the eighth grade. In 1953 thirty-one green freshies continued their long hard climb. The members who underwent complete initiation were: Winnie Adamson; Doris Bacon; Marvin Bradley; Tressa Branson; Donald Burney; Phillip Burney; Paul Danbom; Albert Forsstrom; Donna Fosket; Catherine Gasseling; Mary Gassel-ing; Bert Glass; Floyd Gowin; Jerry Harmon; Donna Hennings; Joanne Hewitt; Shirley Langston; Robert Leonard; Russell Luce; Eleanor Osborn; Larry Nagelschneider; Howard Pierce; Sharon Randall; Larry Riggs; Lorraine Roebuck; Gary Rogers; Mary Sampy; Bertha Schumacher; Karen Schumacher; Loran Swanson; and Norman Tinsley. The officers elected to supervise our class for the beginning year were: Gary Roger s --President; Norman Tinsley--Vice President; Donna Fosket-Secretary; Tressa Branson--Treasurer; Donna Hennings --News Reporter. Miss Hambley was chosen our Class Sponsor. We advanced a step--now we were Sophomores. A few classmates were gained who were Doris Austin and John Dietrick; however we lost Jerry Harmon and Robert Leonard. Our class officers this year were Donna Fosket--President; Gary Rogers--Vice President; Norman Tinsley--Secretary; Donna Hennings --Treasurer and Tressa Branson--News Reporter. Mrs. Johnson was our sponsor. Our Junior year proved to be exciting with a prom, Hawaiian Cruise, and class play, Clementine. We chose Norman Tinsley--President; Shirley Langston--Vice President; Paul Danbom--Secretary; and Catherine Gasseling --Treasurer to guide us through our difficulties. The classmates who left us were: Winnie Adamson, Marvin Bradley, Albert Forsstrom, and Gary Rogers. Seniors at last! The long awaited year has finally arrived. The Almighty Class officers are: Howard Bosley--President; Donna Hennings--Vice President; Catherine Gasseling--Secretary; Joanne Hewitt--Treasurer; and Class Sponsor--Ray Scott. We welcomed a new member, Howard Bosley, and bade goodbye to Bertha Schumacher. We're looking forward to Kid Day, Skip Day, Career Day, the Class Play, and the last and final step Graduation.
