The original members of the graduating class are: Edmund Gasseling, Alma Moravek, Dale Sampy, Gary Wax, John Wyland, and Phyllis Bowser. Many new students were added in the eighth grade and a few of them dropped out. Those in the eighth grade that stayed were: Alfred Dickey, Ivor Dickey, Lora Dickey, Gene Fosket, John Hagemeister, Romaine Maiefski, Barbara Prochazka, LaVern Rogowski, Donald Schumacker, Orgetta Dietrich, Beverly Zak, Bob Duncan, John Wyland, Barbara Haberstrak. Included in the freshman class, known as the Green Freshmen of 1951 were: Donna Appleyard, Kenneth Bergfield, Bob Carrell, Lucille Clark, Wayne Clark, Orgetta Dietrich, Alfred Dickey, Ivor Dickey, Lora Dickey, Bob Duncan, Gene Fosket, Edmund Gasseling, John Hagemeister, Philip Hanneman, Bill Herbaugh, Melvin Klemke, Walter Kohrman, Edward Kresl, Wilma Kriz, Wilmer Kriz, Romaine Maiefski, Johnny Mundt, Marie Mundt, Mary Lou Pipitt, Marcine Price, Barbara Prochazka, LaVern Rogowski, Jimmy Shimek, Donald Schumacher, Dean Varilek, Berneice Votruba, Larry Wilson, Norma Wismiller, John Wyland, Georgia Turnbo, Beverly Zak, Darlene Whelan, Ruth Jensen, Alma Moravek, Gary Wax. This included forty Freshmen. During our sophomore year we lost four members of the class. They were: Philip Hanneman, Orgetta Dietrich, Johnny Mundt, and Georgia Turnbo. We also gained one student during this year. The student is Marvin Kampbell. Wilma Kriz and Wilmer Kriz also quit at the end of the sophomore year. We had one student quit during our Junior year at H.H.S. This student was Kenneth Bergfield. Class officers of the junior class were: LaVern Rogowski, president; Bob Carrell, vice president; Gene Fosket, secretary; Carolyn Klemke, treasurer; and Darlene Whelan, news reporter. We presented the play, Dangerous Nan McGrew, which turned out to be very successful. For the Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom we chose the theme of Moonlight and Roses. The Prom was held at the Legion Hall and was con- sidered a success by everyone that attended. Our class officers for our senior year are: Bob Carrell, president; John Hagemeister, vice president; Alma Moravek, secretary; Mary Lou Pipitt, treasurer. Carolyn Klemke and Gene Fosket were chosen to represent our class in the student council. We dedicated our 1955 Annual to Mr. Fred Petersen, who has served as our class sponsor during both our senior and the junior years of high school. This year the senior class looked forward to presenting their class play entitled, State Fair. Kid day, skip day, and graduation are also some of the things that the senior class had to look forward to. There was also the Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom. We, the senior class, have really enjoyed these four years spent in Hemingford High School, and we have appreciated all of the help given us by the teachers. We now challenge you underclassmen to uphold the spirit of this High School to the best of your ability, and to gain as much as you can in the way of knowledge.
