CHRIS SPENCER, Pep Com- missioner did an excellent job. To earn money for camp and uniforms the girls had many projects, including a bike-a-thon, bake sales, and selling suckers. They set up the programs for pep assemblies before horae games, which boosted school spirit, and did their part to bring in an 8 to 1 football season. 8th Grade Powder Puff cheerleaders Scott Cox, Ward Risvold, Jeff Quam, Tony Morris, Joe Reeves BRUTAL BULLPUPS HAVE 8-1 SEASON The Junior High Football team had one of its finest seasons ever this year, winning 8 games and losing 1 . Steady improvement was shown as the season progressed and opponents began to un- derstand what Bullpup Power was all about as the Bullpup offense rolled up over 2,000 yards. After a slow start, the Bullpup defense came on strong and only allowed three teams to score more than one touchdown while shutting out two teams. The Bullpups hit their season peak in the game against second- place La Sierra when they ran up over 200 yards while holding the hapless Eagles to only 40 yards. On October 22nd, we went to Magic Mountain as our social field trip. In January we went on a field trip to Dana Point tal ing a fishing boat out and watching the migration of the whales from the Arctic to Mexico. We also toured the San Onofre Nuclear Power Plant. Our Halloween Party was held on October 27th and on February 24th we had our 8th Annual Science Fair with 1st through 4th place winners receiving trophies. We had a car v;ash on the 11th of March to help raise funds to send members to the National Y.E.S. convention this summer. In October we sponsored 50 ' s Day and a Sock Hop. The Council also furnished the turkeys for the annual Turkey Trot in November and took delivery of a new popcorn machine purchased with ASB funds. Now HJH will no longer need to borrow a machine or rent one from the high school. The Christmas Dance w« sponsored in December with Just Us porviding the music and the Council providing some great decora- tions. The Valentine ' s Dance took place in February, with California as the band. The King and Queen were: Keith Loomis and Chris Spencer and the Prince and Princess were Jeff Krouse and Lorri Kinsley. For the first time ever, the Student Council sold IHemet Jr. High calendars, with pictures of various clubs and activities on campus. They turned out very well and may become an Annual project. The Student Council meets once a week to discuss social events, student concerns, money-making events and other student activities. We also approve the expenditure of all ASB funds. At this writing, we are looking forward this spring to attending the Secondary Youth Conference, where we ' ll have the chance to discuss our problems and successes with student leaders from other schools. The Student Council has done a great job in representing the student body this year, and our members encourage anyone who wishes to help keep the Bulldogs No. 1, to run for office next year.
