With Mrs. Beckman as our sponsor we soon fcund that meekness was no asset in the upper four grades so we have since turnedon the pep. During the year Velma Hawkins found us too much to bear and departed from our class. We entertained ourselves with two class parties, one at Wilson Park and the other at Martin Lake with transportation by -'---'T nwagon and hay. Beginning this year we could count only nineteen sophomore noses in the sopho- more pews. By checking we found that we C: had lost Marilyn Sowders, Kathryn Smoot, Verna Peters, Patsy Turpen, Laura Walls, Kenneth Allen and Raymond Cummings. We 4 gained Martha Goff, Donna MoT'Qar1, B111 W J- X . 1,551 Bailey, and our stanch sponsor, Miss Clark. If .T fgg,,,,5,5gl John Wubben later moved to Arizona, Fred X If Wubben packed his books and left us and VELMA BARTQIETT Jean Lantz chose the path of early matrhnony EVEQEQT- HUISSTER PRESIDEN rather than the one on which we arenow E - TREA - struggling. We have had a class party at Spring Mill Park and plan another one with the return of the bees, the birds, and the good green grass.
