Tom Jones, the first ploy to be performed outside in- teh courtyard was humorous and witty ap- proach to on 18th cen- tury story. The story was of o young boy woh always has women chasing him because of his looks and charm. However Tom, played by graduate Tim Midgett, loves only one girl, Sophia UUestern who was played by junior Lili Mitchell. The climax of the story was that they came from two dif- ferent worlds. The play had a few references to sex which the cast dealt with in a humorous manner. UUeather forced opening night to be in-l side even though direc- tor Harry Gadbow planned on every per-1 formance outside in the courtyard. The other performances went off very well with sound being the only real drawback. Standing Proud- Senior Destry Randles full of pride during on important scene in Tom Jones perform- ed by the Dromo II doss in 1987. of R € D C H I € F IWellgate's only musical of the year, Ransom of Red Chief hod it’s high points and it’s low points like every production does. But it was the cost that set this ploy apart from the rest. Junior Rnn €agle ployed the kidnapped brat boy Red Chief. With her small features she was very convincing. Junior Greg fine did o humorous job portraying the uncoor- dinated kidnapper. Acting as the Intellligent Crook, graduate Saxon Holbrook held his own throughout the ploy. The five children played their parts creatively, acting curious, confused, angry and sur- prised all at the right moments. In his first major role at Hellgote, sophomore Matt Jalupcak did extremely well as Cbenezer Dorsett, the un- cle of Red Chief. Senior Shan Larson certainly deserves praise for her singing performance. If Looks Could Kill- Junior Ann fagle pouts in ' Ransom'. Keep Trophies were ooundont in the track and field invito tionol lost spring. The Hellgate track teams combined for the most points in the city meet. After dominating UUestern Montano tracks for the lost eleven years, the boys team slipped into o disappointing fourth place in the State tournament. The Hellgate girls team took second behind great performances from Jennifer Storie, Vasa Parsons and Potrido Steinbrucker. Up and Over- Sophomore Jeannie Scott stretches over the hurdles durinq proctice ot Stegner field. Friends Together- Juniors Cosey Kriley, Jen Storie ond Ann Kendall stretch their arms oround eoch other in on embrace for the photographer. Almost There- Senior John UJogner legs it out at the finish to bring his lost year on the team to winning conclusion. 18 Girl's Track
