This Is MCHS What is a school? In Mis- soula County High School's case it starts with two build- ings, 100 teachers and staff members, and 1,900 students. Here, in picture and in prose, is MCHS at work and play in 1958. MCHS seniors, juniors, and sophomores attend the South Avenue high school, which opened in 1957. At the top is the main entrance, left is the gymnasium entrance, and below is a west view of the building.

Empty halls await the arrival of MCHSers. Students waiting for the doors to open at 8 a.m. form a silhouette outside the South Avenue building. In the Morning . . . I was sick ... The line forms for absence excuses from Miss Della Ve Carr, girls' ad- viser. Reviewing last night's events is a favorite topic at lockers before homeroom.
