Don Delaney Elsie Forcum Jug Beck Beverly Madsen (phyMcaL fcducatio Most students are unaware of the difficulties which the faculty has undergone to maintain the physical education department. It was always the first to be disbanded, and not until 1927 was it permanently established. The physical education course con- sists of volleyball, badminton, ping pong, baseball and trampoline lessons. Before Christmas the boys and girls classes combine for dancing lessons. Special classes include tumbling, twirl- ing, and adaptive physical education. The department chairman is Don De- laney. Cuddle up a little closer. Girls demonstrate fine points of basketball to male spectators.

Vocational, Education The Vocational Education course is now divided into three departments. W- These industrial students are hard at work on a table. Benjamin Ulmer Lawrence Bohl Robert Brookie Ed Davis The Vocational Agriculture department, headed by Lawrence Bohl, is this year utilizing the five acres at Spartan Field for livestock and crops. The Industrial Arts department consists of drafting and shop. It was organized in 1912 with classes being held in the garage near the Bitterroot market. Mr. Benjamin Ulmer is head of this department. The Trades and Industry department is new to MCHS this year. It consists of a very ex- tensive auto mechanics course. A Ford engine, Ford-o-matic transmission, and a complete rear axle assembly have been donated by Ford Mo- tor Company and H. O. Bell of Missoula. De- partment chairman is Robert Brookie. This lad measures perfect corners with his T-square. Chester Frojen Mark Jennings Bill at work on oversized bird house.

fijiL The art department was organized in 1913 in conjunction with the Home Economics de- partment. Today the two departments are separate and each one has a staff of three. The department, headed by Carl Hager, offers such courses as fine arts, crafts, and commercial art. Next year a course in photography will be offered to second-year commercial art students. Some Arts and Crafts students working on their projects. Aaron Schenck Art students carve soap into interesting figures.
