ShidsmL fanned HARRY HAINES TEDDY NIEMEYER MARY MANN Vice-President Secretary Treasurer The governing body of MCHS is the Student Council. Each homeroom elects a representative, who attends meetings every Monday. All requests for dances, bake sales, drives and other activities are put before the council for approval. The Student Council sponsors the AFS program, bus trips to Butte or Kalispell, a dance, and Fox The- atre Courtesy Card Sales. The second semester the freshman class conducted its own student council in the Higgins Avenue Building. DELLA VE CARR MARGARET LUNDBERG PARKS WHITMER Girls' Adviser Freshman Boys' Adviser Girls' Adviser Jhulif cl tjolduL dnnwcAAaJiif Change has been a prominent feature of the curriculum of the Missoula County High School during these FIFTY YEARS OF PROGRESS. Some people no doubt believe that modification has come too easily, and in a random matter. Others believe that though innovations have oc- curred, tradition has placed such a heavy hand on practice that change has been slow and inadequate to meet the needs of a rapidly changing society. Regardless, whether change is viewed as slow or rapid, as random or considered, com- parison of educational achievement provides convincing evidence that Missoula County High School ranks high among the comprehensive high schools of the nation. Such achievement could have resulted only from a long period of invention, adaptations and dissemination of good educational practices brought about through the cooperative effort of diligent Trustees and highly skilled staff members. h.
