Boone DELLA VE CARR I Cant Afford the Coffee STUDENTS: What should FREEDOM mean to all American Youth? Freedom means that man is free to think, be- lieve, speak, and join his fellow man is assembly. However, to be truly free, man must also act—and, being a social being, that action must be humane and responsible. All too frequently to youth, freedom has been identified only with the mere casting off of restraints. I do not need to labor the point that, given the appropriate climate of high school experience, and, given the benefit of stimulating exemplification, the high school student should be quick to sense and act upon the precious concept that TO BE A FREE MAN IS PRECISELY TO BE RESPONSIBLE.
