Pickens went over from nineteen yards out in the first few minutes of play to put Missoula in a lead that was never threatened. Borchers added another tally with only a few minutes left in the first quarter. After this the Spartans moved into high gear and proceeded to trounce the Bengals. Weishaar and Pickens scored in the second period, Rhinehart added two rnore tallies in the third, and Lovell's lone touchdown in the last quarter ended the scoring for the night. GREAT FALLS-18 The Spartans finally broke the tyina jinx that was over them for the last four qames, by defeating the Bi- sons in a hard fought battle. Great Falls went over for the first tally of the qame on Bob Tolcerund's twenty-five yard run around left end. The Spartans marched sixty- !our yards the same period to tie the aame up at six all rs Lovell's try for extra point failed. Both teams scored once in the third quarter and aqain in the fourth. The difference between another tie for the Spartans or a win came as Pickens ran for the extra point in the third quar- ter and Lovell booted the extra point in the fourth. Charles Fisher Tackle

MISSOULA-42. BILLINGS-7 Missoula cinched chance to play in the championship game by defeating the Broncs of Billings. The first tally came midway through the first period as Weishaar Went over from the two. Bile lings could get nowhere and had to punt. Pepe and Weishaar drove to the Bronc twenty as the quarter ended. The first play of the second period saw Bray pass to Bhinehart in the end zone. In the third quarter Pickens drove from his own 32 in seven plays to score. As the clock ran out for the third period the Spartans had the ball on the Billings 13. Pickens, Bray, and Weishaar all scored in the fourth period to put the game on ice. The Broncs' lone touchdown came in the fourth quarter on a 33-yard run by Russ Hein.
