The Spartans qot off to a nine point lead at the end of the first period and continued to outscore the Eaqles in the rernaininq quarter. Butte qrabbed an early lead and had the Spar- tans by six points as the first period came to a close. Powell, Anderson, and Bhinehart started splitting the cords in the second frame and wound up with a two point edqe at the half. Missoula started in after the half where they left off and at the third quarter buzzer they were leadinq by eiqht points. Butte qained only one point on the Spartans in the last period, which was a tiqht, hard fought battle.
