MISSOULA 56-GREAT FALLS 33 ln a return engagement on their home court the Spartans ran wild as they romped over the Bisons for the second time in two weeks, Mis- soula took the lead by three points at the end of the first quarter. At the end of the half the Spar- tans held a 15 point advantage and then con- tinued to increase their lead as the game grew older. Powell was tied up most of the night and was only able to make 15 points, Borchers and Anderson were hitting the bucket too as they dropped in 13 and 10 points respectively. The ' Purple and Gold team took the f V lead early in the first period and A were never seriously threatened from that point on. lim Powell, the nior on the starting five, poured in 26 13 J lead the team to their first victory. Roy id Pete Rhinehart were outstanding on Q defense. The Spartans showed great promise VKVV for the coming season as they ran hard all . gs through the contest and were fairly accurate on their shooting. 'S if. f blq r .,. MISSOULA 63-NORTH CENTRAL 47 ln the first game of a two-day tournament at Kalispell the Missoula Spartans defeated the North Central team for the second time this sea- son. Although these games don't count for the Big 15 championship they give the players ex' perience for the games that count. Rhinehart was again a whiz at stopping the opponents.
