f As We See It In 1952, when Helix High School graduated its first class of 234 Seniors, it was a far different place than it is today. Our school has greatly changed and progressed in that span of fifteen years. Enrollment at Helix has doubled since it first opened its doors. This year 578 Seniors will graduate. Achievements in all areas of academics and sports have won us the recognition of being one of the finest schools in the county. This year we have made more progress than ever before. Where basketball courts once stood, now stands a new S141,000 classroom building. The editors of the 1969 TARTAN have endeavored to capture this progression. We feel that the light that has led us and helped us develop will keep shining in the years to come. Hence our theme . . . The Torch of Progress
