Qeniur btatistics When we entered the halls of Helix High School in the Fall of 1954, we caught our first glimpse of high school life from the A.S.B. President and the Administration. We were intro- duced to our counselor Mr. Wallis who was to guide us in our following four years. Later that week, we were officially welcomed by the entire student body at an assem- bly and Hello Hop. The girls were honored at a Big and Little Sister Tea, which was held in the Girls' Recreation Room. Class officers were elected without delay and included Don Bas- sett, Presidentp Paul Preiss, Vice-President, Kay Farnham, Secretary, and Sue Bobby, Treasurer. A constitution was originated and written which would be followed by all Freshman Classes to come. At the close of the year we elected the following Sophomore Class Officers: Mary Con- lee, President, Roger Moulton, Vice-President Pro Tempore, Kay Farnham, Secretary, and Sue McDonald, Treasurer. Several committees were organized to function on behalf of our class. These important committees were the Ring Committee and the Sophomore Class Council. It was decided that we change our rings to silver with a green stone instead of the usual gold. In place of the Emerald Ball, we sponsored a Barnyard Bop, which was enioyed by all who attended. Our Junior year opened with the officers Phil Hutchens, President, Diane Rider, Vice- President, Sue McMasters, Secretary, and Barbara Pawlowski, Treasurer, taking charge. We paid our Junior Dues of 53.50 which enabled us to have a party at Big Oak Ranch. This party was a substitute for the Prom, due to the size of the Senior Class. Several of our classmates were honored by being selected as Tartan Bearers, Torch Bearers, or Ushers for the graduating class. We will always remember our Junior year because we took five Metro League champion- ships in sports. We said goodbye not only to the graduating class, but also to our classmates and friends who were going to the new Mount Miguel High School. At the close of our Junior year we were anticipating the fact that we would be Seniors at last! The officers were elected for our Senior year, who were Roger Moulton, President, Bar- bara Pawlowski, Vice-President, Judy Payne, Secretary, and Jody Bagrie, Treasurer. All of our Senior Events and Activities throughout the year were very successful. The sorrow of our loss in football to Mount Miguel was brightened by an excellent and enioyable Homecoming Dance. Queen JoAnn Edwards reigned at the dance graced by her four lovely attendants. More money was brought into our treasury by the memorable Senior Play: You Can't Take lt With You. A tradition was added which gave Seniors the privilege of leaving five min- utes early from assemblies. All the Senior activities we had looked forward to for such a long time were concluded by the wonderful prom which will always be remembered. The realization of these experi- ences seemed far off four years ago. But now as realities, they become happy years and cherished memories.
