lt was September, 1951, when the doors of a new high school were first opened. Through these doors passed our class full of awe and great expectation of the days that lay ahead. That year we began to organize and get our first glimpse of high school life: the football games, the dates, the dances, and the thoughts of going to our own beautiful new school. Then came the day we had all waited for: September 15, 1952, again the doors opened and we began our Sophomore year on our own campus. As Juniors we faced many problems: selecting a Senior Sweater, collecting dues, and planning our terrific prom, Coral Fan- tasy. ' At last we were on the threshold of our Senior year. Those expectations we had as Freshmen became a reality as our Senior year un- folded. The class of '55 succeeded in gain- ing more privileges than previous classes, including the use of our Senior Patio. Be- cause of the hard working Senior Commit- tees, every Senior was 'busy this year in many activities. Ditch day was a howling success, and we'll never forget our Senior Play, or our banquet. The first class to complete four years at Helix is now graduating from our own campus, wearing robes of green and white. Many doors have opened and closed since that day four long years ago, but the door to a still richer future is just now opening. Perhaps beyond it lies the fulfillment of all our dreams . . .
