Warburton has attained two great things, love and respect. There is not a student at Helix that does not feel theses things for him. Since he will be leaving shortly, we would like to express our deeply-felt grati- tude for all that he has done and wish him the best that the future can bring.- , c., .,.m,.,...1....g..u....g,4g 1, all Bock to the old grindl Oh, well, it wosn't too bod, the beginning of school. Mentor Maynard gave his all tothe team using to thefutmost his knowledge of conditioning and his tricky plays. The running of juniors Karl Jordan, Sonny Beyer, plus the passingrof Henry Bonilla gives us much hope for next year. The kicking of Frank Morgan saved the retreating Highland. ,Eleven from embarassment many times. The solid wall of Dick Gardner, Stan Davies, Bernie Svalstad, Norm Crawford, Brian Herald, Bob Merada and Ed Stemen stopped many of the opposing teams forward drives. Leo Kennison, Don Ahrensberg, Wayne Sweetwood, and Jim Ethridge made their hard tackles felt by the invading foes. Although' only chalking up one win against seven losses, Helix's green wave showed to advantage in most of their tilts this year. ln fact, half of the games lost could have gone either way, the outcome not being discernable until the last gun had sounded. A lt all started with Freshman Initi- ation Day at Grossmont. Remember the fun we had wearing beanies and being slaves to the upper classmen? Then we were sophomores at Helix, but on double session with Grossmont. A junior ring had to be chosen that year and the Ring Committee finally came up with a Scottish man on a green onyx. ,The following year we moved into our beautiful new school. Two big jobs awaited us, planning a prom and selecting a senior sweater. Our prom,' Deep Purple Paradise was one of the best ever and the sweater was really sharp. Then, be- fore we knew it we were seniors, keep- ing busy with senior pictures, Ditch- Day, the Banquet, and making plans for the future. Now'at Graduation, we are on the threshold of that future. lt's all over, four wonderful years and we will never forget them. .. pyopovmmaww- lrene HISIOD Jackie Ellerman Charlene Hansen Ardine Chamberlain Gayle Meador Marylyn Sharp Pat Johnson Charlotte Waterman Jay Elston Louise Nelson ' Marlene Dawson Mary Lombardo Pat Young Sherry Hoss Christine Medeiros Diane Cassell Ronnie Denison Joan Kimble.
