Really unbelievable obstacles come up when one tries to capture the history and mood of a school year. One example: at the last minute, entire sec- tions of the dummy were thrown away by maintenance engineers who mistook unfinish- ed pages for trash, and we spent one morning digging the faculty section out of the city dump! That's the sort of thing that weighed heavily on my mind. I hope that you will like the changes l have made in the traditions this annual has pre- viously followed. lf in places the Vigilante seems more like a magazine than an autograph annual, just think how times really are a-changing. l hope that the pictures and words will remind you how it was, l have tried to make them bright and fresh. When you look at this yearbook, l hope you will understand that l have tried honestly to make it a true picture of the school year l967-l968. Marilyn Eckberg Editor
