gf x ...ig-.4 Senior class officers pose in front of outhouse left at Halloween. Top: Ieff Sherlock, secretary, and Dennis Clancy, treasurer. Bottom: Dennis White, president, Fred Ferris, vice president: and Debby Feller, senior class rep- resentative. The class of 1968 is one of the most outstanding the school has even produced. Every- thing they touched was colored with their enthusiasm, competence, and originality. Helena High's record of athletic excellence was zealously continued by many seniors. ln football, several team members won All State awards for their achievements: Fred Ferris, lst team: Gary Hanson, Tim Morrow, and Reggie Voiles, 2nd team: and lim Sims, Honor- able Mention. Bob Huppe was named the most valuable wrestler at the Divisional Wrest- ling Tournament. Kirk Iohnson earned a position on the All State basketball team. Girls, too, received honors for their energetic efforts. Senior members ofthe cheerlead- ing sguad, Debbie Morgan, Pam Qlson, and Barb Hurni, brought home the first place award from the Divisional Basketball tournament for the second year in a row. Sherri Waters, who was chosen Tournament Queen, also reigned as Queen Vigilante this year. The other mem- ber of royalty from this class is Barb Hurni, l967 Vigilante Princess. Seniors also excelled in leadership and academic achievement. Bob Huppe was elected Lieutenant Governor of Boys State last summer and will be a delegate to Boys Nation this summer. For the first time in the history of Helena High, there were three valedictoriansy Marcia Iohnson, Bob Huppe, and Doug Iones tied for the honor. Although this class reached new heights in the usual school pursuits, their most out- standing feature has always been their original wit. Helena High will not soon forget the disappearance of Bill Bronson, the appearance of the Fillinger for Queen outhouse, or the lovely cheerleaders for the Student-Faculty basketball game. g 8
