SENICDR CLASS CFFICERS Secretary: Bill Roberts, Treasurer: Peter Lanthorn, Representative. Russ Williams, President: Butch Naichshoim, Vice President: Sully Kind, CLASS HISTORY Upon entering the halls of HHS, the Class of '61 was set for three big years of success and leadership. Under the guidance of our outstanding officers, Dru Dougherty, Art Hulett, Karen Baucus, Ilene Barney, and Peter Lanthorn, our class began to pave its Way to a successful future. The sophomore dance Magic Moments, sparkled with success. Ours had the biggest turn out of any sophomore dance held at HHS. Emme Austin and Shirley Hart got many admiring stares from envious juniors and seniors at the Vigilante Coronation. The athletic ability of the class was represented by varsity players Ken Leland, Chuck Green, and lim Whipple. Our class, also, boasted ten girls to be accepted in club, an achievement seldom obtained by a sophomore. As Iuniors, we continued our outstanding record of accomplishments. Ours was the first class to participate in the American Field Service program. Dru Dougherty was selected to represent the United States in Argentina. Mary Kay McEacheron spent the summer in Germany. The fabulous Iunior Prom unfolded all the splendor of Arabian Nights. Everyone formed a procession behind our officersp lim Whipple, Peter Lan- thorn, Shirley Hart, Marilyn Gibson, and Russ Williams, for the Grand March. We were Well represented at Girls' State by the many abilities of Karen Baucus, Nicole Eveland, and Mary Lou Bieri. Iudy Buckland and Nikki Eveland dazzeled the spectators at the coro- nation. We were proud of our glittering candidates. The wild and Woolly Senior Barn Dance was a tremendous kickoff for our last year. Butch Nachtsheim was crowned Queen Bruceve after competing with Western beauties Char Rudio, Connie Bardon, and Sally Neath. Of our three beautiful queen candidates, Emme Austin, Nikki Eveland, Claudia Cartens, Emme Austin was crowned. A regal personality, Emme ruled the school for a year and a day with charm and efficiency. Karen McKindree and Zigmundt Smigaj were finalists in the National Merit tests, truly an honor for our class. Thanks go to our officers, Russ Williams, Butch Natchsheim, Sally Kind, Bill Roberts, and Peter Lanthorn, for making this last year the best ever. , Our excellent Honor Roll and our accomplishments in all fields labels us as being an exceptional classy a class that HHS Will miss. We will miss HHS, also. PAGE NINE
