PAGE SIX lin memnriam In having this page in memory ot Mr. W. W. Wahl we are doing a very small thing in comparison with his dedication ot his entire life to teaching. The general chairman of the Vigilante Parade for many years, Mr. Wahl helped the students of HHS produce the parade which has gained an outstanding reputation. The Wahl Cup, to be presented annually to the class representing the largest number ot prize Winning floats, presented for the first time last year, accorded him the honor of a special trophy. I-le was born in Sprink county, South Dakota, April 25, 1886 and died in Helena, Iune 15, 1954. He began teaching in eastern Montana in 1921, became principal of Boulder public schools in l923 and served as prin- cipal of Beaverhead County High School from l929 to 1935. From 1935 to 1944 he was principal of Helena High and mathe- matics instructor until his illness. Thus, we would like to set aside this page in his memory.

This year the Vigilante staff have decided not to dedicate the annual to one single person. We want to dedicate this book to our high school that has served students ever since 1937. Open for the first time in the fall ot 1935 and closed a few short weeks later due to earthquake damage, and reopened again in 1937, this building has served as a senior high school for eighteen years. Next fall it will open its doors to junior high students whom it will continue to serve tor many more years to come. Also in deepest gratitude We Want to thank all the teachers, administrators, everyone who has contributed to helping us and other students through our high school careers in Helena High. We hope you will like the book and that many happy memories Will arise of days spent here as you turn its pages. PAGE FIVE
