Heiskell students welcomed the third century of our nation with two outstanding projects utilizing the talents of the entire student body. The Bicentennial musical in February presented a panorama of our history as a country in song, dance, and instrumental music. At that time, The Heiskell School recieved a certificate from the American Revolutionary Bicentennial Commission, as the first school in the country to be recognized for its official bicen- tennlal project. This project in- volved a survey of each of the two hundred historical markers in Ful- ton County, as well as a brass rubbing of each one. This infor- mation has been forwarded to the State Department of Natural Fle- sources as an integral part of the state-wide assessment of histori- cal sites. 3 'Z v.1GV 'a vve-5 R01 3' xi

Other af- ternoon programs include tennis lessons for Heiskell boys and girls and their mothers under the direc- tion of Fred Clousar, director of the West Paces Racquet Club. Our gymnastics program under the direction of Miss Lynn Morgan has been most successful. It in- cludes competitive meets and aids many of our girls in develop- ing grace and poise.
