This was due to the Conference ruling allowing freshmen to play. Forty-eight candidates. among them thirteen returning lettermen, answered Coach Turney's summons . . .Play- ing host to an almost entirely veteran Otter- lwin team in the first game of the year, the Prinees were surprised and taught a lesson as the Otters upset the overconfident Hill- toppers 6-0. It was the first time since 1923 that the men from Otterbein had defeated Heidelberg . . . The next week, an inspired team met the high-flying Flyers from the L'niversity of Dayton who outweighed the Princes an average of twenty pounds per man. Dayton was finally able to beat them by a 20-2 score. The Tricolor, proved to the whole state that it was a fighting outfit . . . On the following week, the Wooster Scots, taking advantage of numerous fumbles and other reaks. handed the Student Princes their third straight defeat, 13-6. Fenton Wolfe, senior halfback was the star in defeat as he 5f'0f1'fl lIeidelberg's first touchdown of the year' galloping ninety yards on the second half ki b ekoff to cross the goal line untouched X. b 3 Single Wooster player . . . Meeting Hiram Lollfgss football team on the next Saturday here at Armstrong Field. the Print-es were able to cop their first vietory of the year to the tune of 33-0. A heautiful pass offense lead the way to vietory and showed promise of developing into a real threat for the rest of the games . . . Playing hefore a large and enthusiastic llomeeoming erowd. the Prinees added another win by defeating Nlount lnion 20-l2. lileglaw, liolfe. and Corroto again led their team hy scoring touehdowns . . . The next week the team journeyed to fio- lumbus to play Capital in a mud-logged game and came out the vietors I9-0. Winter scored 'two touchdowns and Wolfe the third, to account for the points . . . Going on lo snatch their fourth straight vietory. the Princes defeated their sister eollege Iilmhurst on Armstrong Field by the very deeisive score of 52-0. Seven lleidelherg players shared in the scoring . . . The Prinees were thwarted in their attempt to end the season with a victory as they went down lo defeat under a powerful, heavy Ohio Northern team, l5-0. The seore really does not give justice to the hard-fighting Turney men, many' of whom were injured. yet played their hearts out in the vain attempt to defeat their traditional rivals from Ada.
