GOING PLACES Heidelberg High Schools students have a repu- tation for being brilliant, crazy, and busy. It seems as if we never slow down. The seniors are busy preparing for college, the juniors are get- ting ready to be seniors, the sophomores are trying to grow up, and the freshmen are finally getting over the excitement of being in high school and are moving on to new things. Being in Germany has many disadvantages, but it has many attributes that seem to outweigh them. Members of our student body have had the op- portunity to travel all over Europe, and some even around the world. Whether it be a trip around Heidelberg, or one to another country, H.H.S. students are always going places. Top leftzjust as this road sign tells drivers that have an option of which way to go, it also illustrates an important part of our lives: making decisions on which way to go. Top middle: A big part oftrips ate the constant stops at the borders. Luckily, these drivers go right through Without having to wait in line Top right: Go ahead! What do you have to lose? We all have to work hard to reach our dreams Middle: It's one of out most popular forms of transportation - the Ctrassenbahn. All aboard! Middle right: It's the good old Army shuttle bus e always dependable. Theme Page 17

6 can begin the Student Life section by acknowledging the fact that there is no typical HHS student. Living in a military community means people from all types of backgrounds, different styles oflife and different personalities. This accounted for all the interesting and crazy times here at HHS. What would high school life be like without all those crazy times, plus all the other events that occurred such as the dances, pep rallies, athletic events, shopping downtown, and just life in general?! Yes, there was life both behind and beyond the doors of HHS! just about everything that happened between school day number one and the last school day presented as a run- ning account of the whole school year. Many, many more of these wild and Crazy fun times will occur throughout our life- times - but it will be those high school years that will be remembered and Cher- ished the most. Student Life 19
