Athletics Challenging oneself to the highest degree has always been the standard rule for all the dedi- cated athletic teams. This year the Challenge seemed greater and the goals Were set higher, as many teams lost experienced players. The ath- letes practiced harder and pushed themselves further. determined to continue a winning tradi- tion. All of our dedicated athletes spent their afternoons. evenings, and even some mornings working out and working up a sweat. Whether they were lifting weights, running laps, or doing pushups, they all worked very hard. At times when their muscles cramped, their feet throbbed With pain. and they felt as ifthey couldnlt go on, they asked themselves the question that seemed to have no answer e WHY? . Their questions were soon answered whenever they were victori- ous. 8 Introduction Fourth hour PrEr students practice volleyball. Right; The new weight machine proves to be a great help to many HHS athletes. Bottom; The proud colors of the Varsity football team stand out as a symbol of true Lion pride.

Activities Somehow taking six classes and having homework in each one just didn't seem to be enough for the members of :1 1984-85 club or Organization. The various activities ranged from raising school spirit to solving world problems. The school, more than just a place for learning facts, became an investment of time and energy to produce excellence. The determination and willpower of keeping Heidelberg High School number one lies in every member who has put time and energy into their work. Some of the students even managed to have jobs. Outstanding leadership and teamwork have made the many clubs and organizations continually successful. all Dan The DUSTBUSTERS brought about many needed changes this yeari At the student council elections the ECTO-l showed the students that they meant business. Middle; The pep band performed at the home games and helped to increase school Spirit. Above; Letter jackets were popular at the school as these wearers show.
